Which online degrees can I complete with T.E.A.C.H. at Drexel?
*The T.E.A.C.H. scholarship applies to 42 of the 45 credits needed to complete the program
When should I apply for the T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship?
You should submit the T.E.A.C.H. application and apply for admission to Drexel at about the same time, and as early as possible. How does T.E.A.C.H. work? What are the criteria for participation?
You need to have been working for at least 6 months in a Keystone STARS child care program, for approximately 30 hours/week
You need to have 55 credits or an Associate’s Degree before you can be admitted to the BS in Education program at Drexel with a T.E.A.C.H. scholarship
Your current teacher salary should not be more than $19/hour for teachers and $25/hour for center directors
For each year you receive a T.E.A.C.H. scholarship, you will need to work for one additional year at your center
You will receive a higher salary as you make progress in your program of study, based on your contract with T.E.A.C.H.
T.E.A.C.H. will pay you to complete field placements or student teaching requirements which may take you out of the classroom
T.E.A.C.H. will pay your center to cover the cost of a substitute teacher if you need to be out of the classroom for school-related purposes
You can complete at least some of your student teaching at your current center so long as you are working with a certified teacher
Child care directors can also receive a T.E.A.C.H. scholarship
You must live and work in Pennsylvania
The T.E.A.C.H. Partnership works with providers, colleges, and child care staff to offer scholarship programs and support systems that improve the education and compensation of child care workers.
